The step to a higher education is big.

The step to a higher education in the arts may be even bigger!

To make your choice, it is important to know what studying a Music programme at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel (KCB) really is like. 

For that, there is no better way than to attend a lesson
(or several lessons) together with current first-year students of KCB.

We warmly welcome you to the Open Class Days of
the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel,
from the 25th of February till the 4th of April 2025.

You will receive a legal certificate of absence if necessary.

The programme pages are divided into specific genres/fields of study. Below you can find the web links.
 

• Classical (instrument/voice)

  • Orchestral instruments (double bass, horn, violin, oboe, saxophone, tuba, percussion,...) 
     
  • Polyphonic instruments & Vocals (piano, harp, guitar & vocals)
     
  • Music and Technology (musical hardware and software)
• Jazz (electric guitar, jazz piano, jazz vocals, jazz violin, percussion,...)
   

• Historical Instruments (natural horn, historical plucked instruments, harpsichord, traverso, viola da gamba,...)
   

• Composition (composing music)  
   
• Conducting (conducting an orchestra)
   

• Music writing (universal language of music)

What if my professor of choice is not present during this open class days? 
No problem, the professor will make an appointment with you at a later time. Each year, professors are looking for new students and will gladly make time to meet you.

May I also perform during an instrument lesson in this open class days? 
You may if the professor in question agrees. Be sure to mention this in your request to the student administration that you would like to perform.

Am I obliged to take an instrument, theory and group lesson during this open open class days? 
You are not obliged to do anything. It is entirely up to you which lessons you want to take.

What if I can’t attend these open class days?
Don't worry, Feel free to propose a few alternative dates to the student administration (secretariaat.kcb@ehb.be).
