Satellite & Duo Altiler win Supernova 2025!

For the 11th consecutive year, a dozen Belgian organizations from the world of classical music have been searching for young, promising chamber music ensembles: the Supernovas. The freshly announced winners of Supernova 2025 have now been revealed, and we are particularly proud that the winning ensembles, Satellite and Duo Altiler, are initiatives by alumni of the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels! Congratulations to pianist Alexander Declercq, violist Coline Meulemans, and cellist Marc Martín Nogueroles: your ensembles captivated the jury and were awarded the grand prize. Additionally, Duo Altiler won the audience’s hearts and took home the audience award.

Duo Altiler

Alexander Declercq studied under Jan Michiels and Benjamin Dieltjens at KCB before further specializing at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln under Sheila Arnold. There, he also received chamber music coaching from Robert Kulek and Anthony Spiri. In addition, he obtained his bachelor's degree in music theory at KCB.

He founded Duo Altiler with Belgian violinist Veronique De Raedemaeker. The two met in 2022 at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln and have since formed a dedicated chamber music duo, making impressive strides on stages both in Belgium and abroad. In 2024, they were both selected as part of Klara’s "Twintigers" programme, highlighting emerging young talent.

Ensemble Satellite

No fewer than two members of Ensemble Satellite are alumni of the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels. Violist Coline Meulemans studied at KCB under Tony Nys and in Ghent under Diederik Suys. She is active in classical music as well as jazz, folk, and pop and is also a singer-songwriter under the name COLLINE.

Marc Martín Nogueroles studied under Jeroen Reuling at KCB and continued his studies with Gary Hoffman and François Guy. Alongside his chamber music activities, he regularly performs with the Symphony Orchestra of Opera Ballet Vlaanderen.

Together with violinist Lia Manchón Martínez, they formed Ensemble Satellite in 2021. The trio explores various string trio and quartet formations, frequently collaborating with musicians from other genres. Their projects have included working with singer Laïla Amezian and accordionist-composer Tuur Florizoone.
