De Twintigers
In 2025, Radio Klara once again presents ten young musicians in De Twintigers. Now in its fifth edition, the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel is especially proud that no fewer than three of these rising talents are alumni of the institution. They had the opportunity to showcase their artistry in VRT’s Studio Toots.

Lenny Bui-Vandeput
After studying at the KSO Lemmens Institute, pianist Lenny Bui-Vandeput completed his master’s degree at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel in 2021 under the guidance of Jan Michiels. He is currently continuing his studies in the class of Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort. As part of De Twintigers, he performs Ravel’s La Valse for two pianos, together with Kirsten Gedeshi. Originally written for two pianos, Ravel later orchestrated this distinctive piece in triple meter. In addition, Lenny also performs solo piano works by Franz Liszt, in which dazzling virtuosity alternates with tender, highly expressive calm passages.

Orson Claeys
Jazz pianist Orson Claeys began his studies at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel. He quickly developed a unique style, blending jazz with world music by drawing on diverse influences and evocative sounds. For this Toots recording, he performs with ud player Akram Ben Romhane and three other musicians as the Orson Claeys Quintet. Together, they present contemporary jazz infused with romantic melodies and at times exhilarating rhythms, creating a direct yet deeply engaging musical conversation with the listener.

Jonathan van der Beek
After studying horn in Brussels with Luc Bergé, Jonathan van der Beek continued his education in Leipzig under the tutelage of Thomas Hauschild. He graduated there last year, at the age of 24. As a freelance musician, he has already performed with numerous European symphony orchestras. For this Toots recording, he chose the magnificent Horn Trio by Johannes Brahms. Jonathan plays a modern French horn here, though he also has extensive experience performing on natural horn.
