Kunsthumaniora Brussel visiting KCB
On Monday the 17th of February 2025, the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel (KCB) welcomed the students of the Kunsthumaniora Brussel (KhB) for an exclusive open day. As many as 62 students from the Music Classical and Jazz departments took part in this inspiring gathering. These were classes from the 5th, 6th and 7th years of Music, who got a unique insight into life at the conservatoire.
A glimpse of KCB: Insight and Music
In the morning, students were given a clear overview of how KCB works. The admission tests, an important part of their further musical path, were discussed in detail.
Of course, music was not to be missed: alumni of KhB, who are now studying at KCB, provided a wonderful musical interlude, a fine example of the flow from KhB to KCB.

Third edition open day KhB

This private open day, exclusively for KhB students, now had its third successful edition and remains a tradition that we continue with great enthusiasm. In the afternoon, students were able to attend various lessons and rehearsals, fully tailored to their studies and interests. Saxophonists listened to the saxophone ensemble, singers followed the opera project, woodwind players got an insight into audition training and jazz musicians observed a jam session. Theory subjects such as AMV, HaFaBra conducting, writing and composition were also covered. In addition, some students got the chance to play for KCB professors. Especially violinists, cellists and piano students showed what they are capable of.

Building young musicians' futures together
With this initiative, we aim to not only inform but also inspire and motivate KhB students in making their study choice in higher music education.
It is a pleasure to meet so many young musicians and guide them on their artistic path.
Secondary art schools play an indispensable role in this.
We therefore look forward to welcoming them again next year for another edition!

With many thanks to
Thanks to Jan D'haene (director KCB) and Serge Algoet (director KhB) for their support and encouragement.
Also a big thanks to the professors of KCB and KhB who welcomed the students with open arms, and to the staff of KCB for the smooth organisation.
And last but not least, to the students of KCB and the students of KhB, who made this day a success with passion, respect and enthusiasm!
