December: a month full of music and magic at KCB's Musical Department

December was a busy but unforgettable month for the Musical Department of Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel.
With two special highlights, our students added some extra sparkle to this festive month.

Singing for De Warmste Week

The last day of school before the Christmas holidays coloured the streets of Brussels atmospherically and musically. Our musical students, armed with Santa hats and a good dose of enthusiasm, went from St Catherine's to the Bourse to sing carols. This heartwarming tradition had a purpose: to raise money for De Warmste Week.

With every note and song, our students brought happy faces and togetherness to the heart of the city. Thanks to their efforts and the support of the Brussels public, we were able to donate more than €400 to charity. A great result that proves how music connects people.

We thank our students and teachers for their commitment and sharing their talent. See you next year, for another edition of Singing for De Warmste Week!

Musical production: 9 to 5

From December 5 to 14, our third-year musical students dazzled on stage with their first public production 9 to 5: The Musical. Based on the iconic film with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, our students performed a captivating show that thrilled the audience.

Directed by Bruno Van Heystraeten and with choreography by Adam Solya, the students took us through a story full of humour, strength and perseverance. The musical direction was in the hands of Pietro Ramman, while Jean Van Driessche provided the visual craftsmanship. In addition, Jazz students from Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel and RITCS (sister institution at Erasmushogeschool Brussel) also contributed to this production, further highlighting the collaboration between different courses.
