Hans Adolfsen

Hans Adolfsen first studied Voice and then Piano at the Utrecht Conservatoire. In the specialisation Song Accompaniment, he then found the ideal combination. Lately, he has been giving frequent concerts with saxophonist Harry White, but he also has an intense collaboration with Voice teacher Margreet Honig (Amsterdam). At the Basel theatre, he plays harpsichord in two productions by Herbert Wernicke and is assistant to the conductor Michael Hofstetter. He made several CDs, including Brahms songs with soprano Lenneke Ruiken (published by Brilliant Classics). His main compositions are: Ein umgekehrter Wellenritt on texts by D. Mayer (2002), Landgewinnung - nicht ganz 40 Versuche zur Gegenwart on texts by U. Andersen (2010), The necessity of language for saxophone quartet (2013) and Die neue Sappho (2015).
