This concert concludes a fascinating day of presentations, lectures and panel discussions about the national project BOO & international project NS4NA. Have a look at the programme and the possibility to register.
At the end of February, the BOO heritage project comes to an end. We are not going to let this go unchallenged and are planning a real closing event on Friday 25 February 2022 with a special concert at 8 pm: students and teachers of the Classical Music and Jazz department of the KCB will be on stage together and perform compositions and arrangements by Sadi, selected directly from the BOO collection.
"Fats" Sadi Lallemand (1927-2009) belonged to the so-called golden generation of Belgian jazz musicians, alongside such well-known contemporaries as guitarist Toots Thielemans and saxophonist Bobby Jaspar. As a vibraphonist, he was a regular guest with the various jazz ensembles of the Belgian public broadcasting corporation, in particular the BRT Jazz Orchestra conducted by Etienne Verschueren. For these ensembles Sadi wrote many compositions and arrangements, which will be performed at our closing event for the first time in years. Belgian heritage expressed in a swinging way, a memorable end to a special project!
