Introductie

Niet voor niets kreeg het pianotrio nr. 2 van Sergeï Rachmaninov de titel élégiaque. Het typeert de treurige en introspectieve aard van het werk, gecombineerd met passie in een romantische stijl. Een beklijvend werk dat ook de synoniem staat voor de latere werken die Rachminov schreef.

Melodische vindingrijkheid en harmonische diepte vinden we terug in een andere pianotrio dat hier zal worden uitgevoerd. César Francks schreef dit pianotrio op. 1, nr. 1, zoals ook Rachmaninov op jeugdige leeftijd en kenmerkt zijn latere oeuvre.

En met Eugène Ysaÿes, Poème Elegiac krijgen we een technisch uitdagend werk voor de violist, bijzonder expressif en met een sterke emotionele gelaagdheid. Het werdt alvast een avond vol van emoties met briljante en sublieme uitvoeringen door vooraanstaande docenten van het Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel en het Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles.

A series of concerts as a tribute to the Conservatoire concert hall, organised by the asbl Conservamus. Not a farewell but looking forward to a new, fresh start after the completion of the renovation and restoration works. 10 concerts to enjoy the concert hall's special atmosphere and exceptional acoustics for the last time. Classical, jazz, contemporary music and pop/rock colour the versatile programme.

The exhibition of Vietnamese artist Boa Vuong will also start on 2 May 2024, within the framework of the "perpetuating impermanence" exhibition series organised by the non-profit association Conservamus and Révélations.
