One of Canada's most active horn players, Montreal's Louis-Philippe Marsolais has been making a name for himself on stages around the world for over 15 years. He divides his musical life between solo, chamber and orchestral music.
His career as a soloist began when he won three prizes at the prestigious ARD competition in Munich in 2005. These prizes were added to a long list of awards from the international competitions in Geneva, Trevoux and Rovereto. Since then, he has performed with many orchestras in Canada and the United States and throughout Europe.
Louis-Philippe has been principal horn of the Orchestre Métropolitain since 2009 and is a frequent collaborator with Les Violons du Roy and the Orchestre de chambre I Musici de Montréal. He is also very active as a chamber musician. With the Pentaèdre Wind Quintet, of which he has been a member since 2003, he performs throughout Canada, the United States, Europe and the Middle East.
This Masterclass is co-organised by our horn professor, Jeroen Billiet, and our colleagues at the CrB.
