Arthur Klaassens

Workshop & Masterclass & Concert

Arthur Klaassens is a multitalented and headstrong oboist, combining the traditional with the experimental. As a player, arranger and programmer, he is always looking for special angles to existing repertoire and for the interesting possibilities of new music.

New developments are a common thread throughout his career. He is the first Dutch owner of a Lupophone, a new type of bass oboe developed by Guntram Wolf. His debut CD Ratio was released on 5 March 2021 by Dutch label 7MNTN Records. On it, the now full oboe family can be heard together for the first time, both in special layered arrangements and in entirely new work.

This Masterclass is co-organised by our oboe professor, Karel Schoofs.
