André enjoys international recognition as a versatile Belgian pianist. He was laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 1968, soloist, chamber music performer and made a series of fantastic recordings, including the 32 sonatas by Beethoven and the complete work for piano by Brahms.
Modestly, he chose to put his pedagogical-artistic qualities to use for many years at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel. Consequently, many of our teachers today have had the opportunity to experience his mastery and have themselves grown into highly accomplished musicians. De Groote will once again come to our conservatoire to give our current students a masterclass to remember.
