Rudy Van der Cruyssen (°1964) started his organ education in the class of Kristiaan Van Ingelgem. He continued his studies at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel (KCB) and received First Prizes in solfege, written and practical harmony, organ, counterpoint, fugue and music history.

After his studies at KCB, Rudy Van der Cruyssen completed his education trough classes by Kamiel D’Hooghe at the Maastricht Conservatoire. There, he obtained the soloist diploma ‘Performing Musician Organ’ with the highest distinction and on this occasion, he created the concerto for organ and orchestra ‘Urbi et Gorbi’ by Jan Van Landeghem.
As organist, he performed with the ‘National Orchestra of Belgium’ and the ‘Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia’. Rudy Van der Cruyssen was titular organist in the H. Hartchurch of Knokke-Heist and he gave concerts in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and the United States of America.

Alongside his musical career as an organist, Rudy Van der Cruyssen unfolded an artistic path as a conductor. He followed several Masterclasses choral and orchestral conduction at among others, Daan Admiraal, Johan Duijck, Laszlo Heltay and Jos van Veldhoven. Presently he is active as the conductor of the Youth Choir ‘Rondinella’, one of the leading choirs of Belgium. Rondinella got invited to festivals in Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Spain, France and the United States of America.

Rudy Van der Cruyssen started his teaching career in 1985 at the Academy of Performing Arts in Knokke-Heist. In 1994 he got appointed as director of ‘deKunstAcademie’ Knokke-Heist.
Since 1998 Rudy Van der Cruyssen is connected to KCB as prof. ‘general musical education: rhythm and intonation’.
