Discover the next generation of jazz musicians thanks to the non-profit association vzw Vriendenkring KCB
For the first time, the Toots Thielemans Jazz Award took place during the Brussels Jazz Festival, thanks to the new collaboration between Flagey and the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel. An expert jury awards the most promising student(s) from the jazz department with a cash prize and the chance to perform live in a professional setting. In this way, the conservatorium wants to encourage young jazz talent and lay the foundations for their further careers. This edition's winner is pianist Yu-Ting Li, who was accompanied by an impressive ensemble for her project VIVA.
