Piano professor Daniel Blumenthal makes a major contribution to the documentary 'Victory Day', produced by Patricia Niedzwiecki.
The music of Daniel can be heard as well as the story of his father, whose family from Berlin had left the city in 1930. The father landed on the Normandy coast on 6 June 1944, to liberate a Europe he had left as a child.
The story of ‘Victory Day’ revolves around the sagas of two families involved in the turmoil of the 1930s whose suffering finally ends after five years of terrible deprivation, like so many other families in Europe.
On 2 October 2019, at 20:00, this film will be premiered at the Jacques Franck Cultural Centre, Chaussée de Waterloo 94, 1060 St-Gilles. Free admission, reservation required.
Last year Daniel and Patricia also made the documentary RETRO, a film about the vital role of artists in times of war.
