Jeremías Iturra studied classic guitar and composition at the Catholic University of Chile. He continued his music studies in France, at the CRR of Grenoble, in the class of Arnaud Petit in composition and then in Lyon at the CNSMD under the direction of Robert Pascal. In 2019, he won the 1st prize of the 15th International Composition Competition Luis Advis in Chile; he won the 1st prize of the 9th International Composition Competition Póvoa de Varzim; in 2012, the 2nd prize at the International Composition Competition Maurice Ohana in Paris; in 2011, the honourable mention award at the International Competition for Young Composers Federico Mompou (Barcelona). In 2013-2015 he studied in the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart with Marco Stroppa. In 2015 he had a Master degree in composition at the CNSMDL under the direction of Philippe Hurel. His music has been played by prestigious performers such as Ensemble Intercontemporain, Ensemble Recherche, Quatuor Béla, Ensemble Court-Cirtcuit, Barcelona Modern Projet, Remix Ensemble, Ensemble Aleph, among others. Currently, he is double Phd candidate at the Conservatoire National Supérior de Musique et Dance of Paris, and at the Koninklijk Conservatorium of Brussels/VUB.
