The Greek guitarist Antigoni Goni is an internationally acclaimed soloist and recording artist, sought after pedagogue and festival organizer, who performs extensively in Europe, Russia, North and South America and the far East, from Wigmore Hall, to the Bolshoi Theater, to Carnegie Hall.
Antigoni Goni is a British council, Royal Academy and Juilliard School scholar. In her long list of her competition pries and awards are the prestigious Julian Bream prize (received from Julian Bream himself) and the first prize of the 1995 Guitar Foundation of America Competition.
Her teachers include Julian Bream, Sharon Isbin, Oscar Ghiglia, John Mills and Evangelos Assimakopoulos . Today she brings her internationally acclaimed expertise to universities and music academies around the world.
She is the founder of the Guitar Department at the Juilliard Pre-College Division (that she also chaired and taught for 10 years), adjunct professor at the Columbia University until 2005, as well as an honorary Associate Professor (ARAM) at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Since 2005 Antigoni Goni is the head of the Guitar Department at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels. In 2007 she founded the Volterra Project, Summer Guitar Institute, a successful international workshop.
