Born in Roeselare in 1982, horn player Anthony Devriendt began his professional horn studies at KCB (Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel) in the class of Luc Bergé in 2000. In 2006, he obtained his master's degree. Immediately after his studies, Anthony Devriendt started a career as an orchestral horn player. In 2006, he became 4th horn of the Opéra Royal de Wallonie and since 2009 he has been solo horn of the National Orchestra of Belgium.
In addition, he is a much sought-after guest solo horn with the other Belgian Orchestras, but he is also active abroad in this role with, among others, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Orchestre National de France, Filharmonie Zuid-Nederland, WDR Symfonie Orchester and KBS orchestra in Seoul.
In addition, Anthony Devriendt is a member of the ensemble I Solisti del Vento and the Brass Quintet of the NOB and is a frequent guest of Oxalys, Het Nederlands Blaasensemble and various occasional ensembles.
As a soloist, Anthony Devriendt has already been a guest with Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, the Koninklijke Muziekkapel van de Gidsen and with many amateur orchestras.
Anthony has teaches at the LUCA School of Arts, Campus Lemmens, since 2020, and from the academic year 2024-2025 also at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel.
