Artistic research is an important part of the operations of the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel. As an institution we aim to support various talented researchers and provide them with opportunities to broaden their expertise in specific artistic fields.
The departmental research council TROBADOR
The research commission TROBADOR was founded during the academic year 2003-2004 under the supervision of Dr. Christiaan de Lannoy. Since the academic year 2020-2021 Jan De Winne has become the departmental research coordinator and chairman of the research council.
Members are: Benjamin Dieltjens, Jan Michiels, Maarten Stragier, Jean Van Driesche, Benjamin Van Esser, Peter Van Heyghen en Annelies Van Parys. Observing member is quality care coordinator Peter Daerden.
TROBADOR is composed of various active researchers and practicing musicians, composers, music theoreticians and musicologists.
This balanced composition has proven to be effective for prospection, spreading and judging various research projects as well as the integration of these projects into the operations of the KCB. TROBADOR aims to stimulate the artistic and scientific research and also has a preparatory role in the policy making around research.
