Alain Cremers began his musical studies at the Welkenraedt Academy of Music and at the Verviers Conservatoire, where he obtained his diploma for chamber music and bassoon with the greatest distinction in 1990. That same year he won the 26th Dexia Axion Classic Competition, where he won a first bassoon prize, which was awarded for the first time since the competition was founded.
In 1991 he went to the Royal Conservatoire of Music in Brussels where he immediately won the first prize in bassoon with distinction in the class of Mr André Jacques. In 1992 he became a bassoon teacher at the Academy for Music of the German-speaking Community of Belgium. In 1993 he was accepted as bassoonist and double bassoonist with the symphony orchestra of the Koninklijke Munstchouwburg, where he worked until 2005.
He is regularly featured in various orchestras and chamber music ensembles, with a very diverse repertoire, both in Belgium and abroad (I Solisti del vento, Pentafoon, Octopus, Quartz, Emanon Ensemble, etc.). In 1995, he joined the Musikhochschule in Cologne, where he perfected his skills with Mr Rainer Schottstädt.
From 2003 to 2006 he taught bassoon at the music academy of Braine-l'Alleud. In August 2005 he became first bassoon soloist with the royal opera of Wallonia. In 2006 he created a new bassoon class at the Music Academy in Welkenraedt.
Bassoon teacher at the Conservatoire of Verviers since 2009, Alain also teaches bassoon and methodology at the Institute for Music and Education in Namur, at the IMEP.
In 2018 he obtained the position of first bassoon solo with the Symphony Orchestra of the Royal Theatre of Brussels. In the same year, he became a bassoon teacher at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel.
